    It happens every time...

...just a line from Neve's tune, "Drift."  It's a beautiful tune.

    But, I digress.

I'm absolutely loving this week.  It's raining and rain is in the forecast for the next several days.  There really isn't a quicker way to put a smile on this face.  Well, maybe, but again, I digress...

Well, let's see...last night, I went out to run an errand for my mom, and upon walking out of the front door, there was a, yep, you guessed it, dead bird on the front porch.  As if someone had left it there just for me!  So, after taking a few pics of it to send to my sis, I scooped it up with the shovel and tossed it in the extremely overgrown fields across the street.

And, the tales from Wildlife Central continue...

On my drive, I was dodging mini-frogs crossing the road left and right!  I hate when they're just hopping along, and you can't help but run over them, hoping your tires didn't get 'em, but you hear, *thump*, and you know exactly what that was:  froggy hopped when he shouldn't have.

When I got home, there was none other than a mini-frog on the front walkway.  Of course, I had to harass him with pics and a video that is hardly visible.  But you get the sound effects.  I'll have to post the photos a little later on.

Well, that's what I've got for now...stay tuned...

    Tell me!

does she miss you, insisting just to kiss you like the way I do??

What an awesome tune by MLE.

Not much time to put much thought into this entry, but I thought, since it's been a long while since I posted, I would drop a few lines.

It's been a rough year, but I am alive.  I have survived, and I'm holding on.  (MLE)

Wow, yeah, random entry, but that's what I've got for now.

    Never Saw Blue Like That...

Katie Reider's cover of Tom Kimmel's gorgeous penning came up in my Windows Media shuffle...more prayers to Katie's family, loved ones, and fans...

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today I took a walk up the street
I picked a flower and climbed the hill
    Above the lake
And secret thoughts were said aloud
We watched the faces in the clouds
Until the clouds had blown away

And were we ever somewhere else
Who knows, it's hard to say

But I never saw blue like that before
    Across the sky
    Around the world
And you've given me all you have and more
And no one else has ever shown me how
To see the world the way I see it now
Oh, I, I never saw blue like that

    I can't believe a month ago I was alone,
    I didn't know you
I hadn't seen you or heard you're name
    But even now,
    I'm so amazed
    It's like a dream,
    It's like a rainbow,
    It's like the rain

And some things are the way they are
    And words just can't explain

But I never saw blue like that before
    Across the sky
    Around the world
And you've given me all you have and more
No one else has ever shown me how
To see the world the way I see it now

Oh, I, I never saw blue like that
    And it feels like now,
    And it feels always,
And it feels like coming home

But I never saw blue like that before
    Across the sky
    Around the world
And you've given me all you have and more
No one else has ever shown me how
To see the world the way i see it now
Oh, I, I never saw blue like that before

    Katie Reider

I am beyond incredibly sad to say that we have lost a beautiful person this week.

In memory of such a talented artist, I'm posting the lyrics to one of my favorite Katie songs.  This one is from her album, "Wonder."

Katie, you will be missed...your enduring spirit will always be an inspiration to me.

Please check out her amazing music at www.myspace.com/katiereiderband

    "What You Don't Know"

What you don't know is that I love you
What you don't know is how much I care
And what you don't see are my dreams about you
I dream about you, I dream about you

But I'm afraid to let you in, and I'm afraid to let you know, yes I'm afraid to let my love show

It's so peculiar this thing that we've found.
It's so amazing how loud my heart does sound
Feel the pulse, it's beating only for you, it's beating only beating only for you.

But I'm afraid to let you in, and I'm afraid to let you know, yes I'm afraid to let my love show

Don't you wonder of this timing
    It's mysteriously mystifying
I'm head over feet, flying all around
Won't you catch me before I hit the ground

But I'm afraid to let you in, and I'm afraid to let you know, yes I'm afraid to let my love show.
But I won't be afraid to let you in, I won't be afraid to let you know,
no I won't be afraid to let my love show

    Friday and Fireworks

Well, this is a dual-purpose journal entry.  First and foremost, IT'S FRIDAY!!!  Woot.  I am so ready for the weekend.  MY weekend, in which I will do what I choose to do.  Well, for the most part.

It's been a slow week.  Work-wise, that is.  At home, I've got a ton to do, but here at work, it is the slow part of the year, and we're down to the crap piles.

Well, enough of that.  Following are some photos from the fireworks I saw up in Weatherby Lake, MO on the Fourth.  What a fantastic day.  It was the first time (and keep that in mind when viewing the photos...my first crack at fireworks) I'd actually gone to the site of the fireworks to view them.  All of these years, and yes, I'll admit it, I was too chicken poop to go.  This year, and I do NOT know why I hadn't thought of this before, but I brought along ear plugs.  Yeah.  'Nuff said.

About Me

  • What can I say? I love the shutter. I don't have photos (of which to speak) uploaded here just yet. I have a bunch on my website (kmhphoto.zenfolio.com) and MySpace (www.myspace.com/kris94). Aside from being a photographer, I'm a 3/4 time student at Pitt State while still working full time (40 hours) and maintaining some semblance of a "life." I think I do pretty well. Well, not counting the fact that I'm a STRESS BALL!
